What is Belle of the Ball?
Belle of the Ball Project is a 501(C) 3 non-profit organization, which provides prom, and homecoming dresses to high school girls in Pinellas, Hillsborough, Pasco, Polk, Hernando, Citrus and surrounding counties for their high school dances. High school girls can also get dresses for home school dances and military balls.
Our mission statement is“No girl should be denied the opportunity to attend her high school dance because of financial difficulties”
Where can I get a dress?
The Belle of the Ball boutique is located at 1210 Holt Ave. Clearwater, FL 33755. This is a year round facility, but it is open only on select dates. Volunteers have created a beautifully decorated 5,000 sq. ft. boutique for girls` shopping enjoyment. Girls can choose from over 3,000 dresses organized by size and color. Many of the dresses are new with tags.
When can I get a dress?
Dresses are distributed twice yearly, usually 4 dates in the fall for homecoming and 4 dates again in the spring for prom. Prom 2020 Dates: SATURDAY MARCH 7th & 28th | APRIL 4th & 18th
These are the ONLY days to receive a dress. All shopping days are held on Saturdays between the hours of 10am and 2pm. No appointments are necessary, nor do we make them.
How do I get a dress?
Girls qualify for a dress if they appear in person and attest that they are currently having financial difficulties. No documentation is necessary. We provide all forms. Girls also qualify if they have been referred by school or agency officials, or other non-profit organization. No referral letter is required. We operate on the honor system. Girls from all areas are welcome. Girls must be present to receive a dress.
What is the cost?
There is no cost. A $1 to $5 donation is requested but not required
Do the dresses need to be returned?
The dresses do NOT need to be returned, but we do ask that you do so if the dress will no longer be used so we may offer to other girls. But there is not requirement to do so.
How many employees does Belle of the Ball have?
We have no employees. We are a 100% volunteer organization and rely on volunteers.
How do I volunteer?
We have roughly 25 volunteers who assist at each shopping day. We have a core group of key volunteers who work year round.

Since 2003, Belle have the Ball has given out over 7,000 dresses to girls from 17 Florida counties.
Due to our generous donors of dresses and SunCountry Cleaners` 39 collection sites, we are able to collect more dresses than we need and are delighted to also supply organizations like those listed below in line with our mission:
